How do I turn off the accessibility screenreader??!

:D Hallelujah (singing). Crazy!! :p My husband i were exhausted trying to figure this out and he is a Geek! That option needs to go - i dont even under stand how that would help visually or hearing impaired. Thank you for your continued effort to resolve, then share this issue.

Thank you so much for the assistance given for talk back disability in MOTO E .I'm afraid of the media and photos available in my mobile, because i plan to give to service centre to install he new software.
After reading your steps easily i off the talk back mode.
Thank you so much.

Use double tap to select an application on the screen, use two finger to move screen, always do double tap to select and unselect to disable the talk back option in accessibility.

Thank you so much. Yes, this was making me extremely frustrated.

I found I had to hold the Gear S with both hands, touch the screen simultaneously with both thumbs, and push relatively hard to scroll to Accessibility.

Hi,

I turned on the screen reader on my android phone and I wasn't able to turn it off. Before seeing the post where it was suggested to use two fingers, I turned off my phone...hoping that it will be fine after swtiching it on. But now to my horror, I couldnt even unlock my phone.
Can someone please help me solve this annoying problem of mine? :-\

Thanks,
Viji.

I turned on the accessibility screen reader by mistake, and now can't even get to the option to turn it off again.
Can't scroll down to reach the option, can't use the pull down menu.

Any ideas?

Thank you so much I love the idea of sharing information. Just in my case, it happened on my friend's LG G3 by mistake and after I looked at the options there is a shortcut for that and by triple - tap on home bottom you can turn it on or off. However, it doesn't work on my Sony Xperia Z3.

Use 2 fingers to scroll down t settings. Not 1 and it will scroll

Just had this issue with my Gear S watch. Turned on 'screen reader' by mistake while playing with the settings and I was ready to flip out. Nowhere does it say anything about using two fingers. Thanks, you saved me a sleepless night and kept me from ruining a tech support persons night!

Thankyou so much for this.
I was getting super stressed with my new phone and was about to try factory reset.
Been trying for a whole day to scroll down to accessibility settings to turn off talkback.
Took a while to get the 2 finger scroll working.
Think I needed 3 or 4 fingers.
CRAZY that you can turn on a setting and it disable your phone and you can't turn it off.

Fantastic, thanks.
I would never in a thousand years have guessed two fingers.
I did everything but lick it! ;)

I had the same problem. Googled the problem, your forum came up and the solution. I can't thank you enough. So I joined the forum.

This just happened to me after I downloaded dynamic notifications. You have to goto settings from the home screen and using two fingers you can scroll down to "accessibility" double tap it to open it, scroll down to "talk back" double tap it and double tap the toggle off. That should be it good luck, took me over and hour to figure out and was getting severely pissed

Thank you. .omg..

Thank you for your help on this issue. I went to a presentation on this Accessibility feature by a representative of the Sacramento Program for the Blind. He told us not to try to turn this on without knowing what we were doing. Of course, I had to try it out and I agree that it was a bad idea. Don't do it.
It is good to get it turned off when you follow these instructions. You have your phone back.
Good luck with your accessibility phone if you try it.
Ha Ha.

I've read this entire thread twice.

I can't get past the log in screen of my phone.
Double tap on numbers, I see the dots like I put in numbers. But double tap on "ok" and I see another dot like I put in another number. Doesn't register as "ok"

Tried double tap, two fingers tap, two fingers swipe.

I was in heavy text with my boss, now I can't even get in the phone!

Talked to customer service at Samsung.

Swipe a capital L on the login screen
This brings up a list of "global options"
Select "pause feedback"
(The selection is tricky because it's in talk back mode. I had to try several versions of double tapping, holding and double tap holding, the last being where you double tap and the second tap is actually a hold)
If successful, you will get a screen to verify you want to get out of talk back mode
Go through the same procedures to get the "ok" button selected

If successful, you can get to the home screen, to settings menu, to accessibility, and to talk back mode and get it TURNED OFF!
