My micromax phone running kit kat 4.4.2 came with Opera Mini browser pre-installed and I want to update it. Google play will tell update available and download it but won't install. Asks me to remove existing version first which I can't because it's a pre-installed app. It's not at all important for me to update this app but this irked me alot. My other apps got updated flawlessly but for this app Google play says that existing version wasn't signed properly. So can I somehow uninstall this existing version of this pre-installed app without rooting (and breaking my phone's warranty)?? Many thanks in advance for replying.

You can't remove preloaded apps, but I am curious if you disabled it (Settings>apps>click on Opera>click uninstall updates>click disable), then tried downloading the new app?
