Go to your contacts. Open up the contacts that are in your favorites and tap the star in the top right. Or long press on the contact in the favorites.

I think if you read the update info for Dec. 11 it list this as one of the fixes....it now automatically puts a contact in the favorites list after 3 calls.

Check out the app Tiger. It monitors the Frequently Called list and prevents contacts from ever appearing on it without having to manually clear the list.

Search for Tiger - Trial in the market

Um I dont see how these posts answer the OP question but I was trying to figure this out too, until I installed a custom rom and had to wipe data. So brand new frequently called list. I have seen no button to clear the list otherwise.

The App is called Frequently Called Remover, but it doesn't work on the new Ice Cream Sandwich OS for the droid..... I have the Nexus and it doesn't work, but for every other Android phone it does..... I sent the developer a note to hurry with the fix for ICS

Go to contacts, select the menu button on your phone swap-menu-back-buttons-your-samsung-galaxy-note-2-for-easier-left-handed-navigation.w654.jpg, select remove from favorites. Scroll down to most recently contacted, select the name you want to remove, and press done.

Long press on a contact in the frequently called list and select remove from list. The only bad thing could be that you have to do them one by one. Otherwise it works.

I tried everything under the sun after reading blog after blog. Finally, I downloaded another phone app - TRUE PHONE. I'm not working for them, trust me. But I like the app. In it, favorites are favorites. Your list of recents is always in the home screen (plus the dial pad), so you don't need to move to history to find your recents. Favorites is an easy tab on top of the screen. I'm liking it. The frequents creeping in my favorites was a featured I detested in my old phone app. By the way, I have a Moto X with Lollipop.

put your finger on the person in your frequently called list it will show with little round tab beside it with a check mark. Then go to drop-down menu right hand top corner it will as if you want to remove it from everywhere or just favorites click favorites and your done. I just did mine..good luck. ??????

Anyone figure out how to delete frequently called under favorites in phone app? Without doing complete wipe of phone. lol.

Go into your "Contacts" (orange icon) and click on the 3 vertical dots on the top right hand side and select "Settings."

Then click on the "Show Frequently Contacted" tab and that will remove your frequently contacted contacts.

Does anyone have any other ways to do this? That setting doesn't exist on my phone, it must be part or Samsung's Android skin. I'm running Android 7.1.1 on a Moto Z Force. Motorola runs pretty close to stock Android

Long hold on the contact under the frequently contacted list and hit delete. It will bring up the option to delete the contact or remove it from the frequently contacted list.

ERASE all Frequent Calls and REMOVE Catagory Completely

This is the way to Erase all Frequent Calls and Remove the Catagory from your Contacts.

Go to your "Contacts" (orange icon) and click on the 3 vertical dots on the top right hand side and select "Settings."

Then click on the "Show Frequently Contacted" tab and that will remove your frequently contacted contacts.

Note... This was copied from Gordon R's original solution.
