How do you discover music? Do you still listen to the radio?

No radio for me other than the morning. I like some of the local radio guys during the morning. Otherwise I will take some metal with my coffee! :D

I listen to a lot of internet radio. It runs constantly while I'm at the computer. Mostly Radio Paradise, but it varies. We also get some good TV for music these days.

In the morning drive to work I listen to the radio KVJ Show in South Florida, then when I'm in the bathroom taking care of business I listen to the radio.

Im kicking it pretty old school i guess.. Still listening to the national radio channels here in Denmark. Mostly P3, which focuses on entertainment & new popular music locally and international. This is mostly for background noise though.. If i really want to discover new music I use spotify :)

no, don't listen to the radio. I'm a member of several discussion forums about music and I get recommendations from friends there.

Spotify is great for me. I am subscribed to several playlists and when the owners make changes I receive notifications. There are sites that you can find these playlist.

I occasionally use Pandora and Spotify to find new music and artists. I actually find a lot of new music from suggestions on YouTube, as someone previously mentioned.

I listen to the radio and browse YouTube. For me, finding "new" music is easy because I don't listen to new music. I listen to music from the 50's – mid-80's. Plus some sparse modern indie rock/light rock/indie folk. Plus there's some 40's big band/radio tunes mixed in there as well.

Social media groups. I basically join some genre, like say, metal or rock, and then interact with people or their posts to find out names of new or old bands i haven't tried yet. then i google their greatest hits and youtube them.

This has to be the absolute best internet radio app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.audials
It's free, no ads, not even a paid version anymore! Over 250 thousand stations & podcasts. The app has a record function, fabulous sound with built-in player & equalizer. Tons of settings, search, etc. And did I mention it's blazing fast? TuneIn used to be my go to app, but haven't used it in many months, and after Play Music served me ads every other song the other say, I'm done with them too.

I do have a nice little internet app, open source, free, no ads, called "internet radio" I picked up on
F-Droid , and it might be in playstore too. But, no record function. Very light app though, and worked rather well.

Internet radio has come a long ways in the last few years. But, be ready to expend about 50-100 mb per hour. Or stream over Wi-Fi only.

In the car I have SiriusXM, so tend to listen to music on that while driving so that I don't have to think about what I want to listen to.

Otherwise, for new music discovery I'm part of multiple music communities online with people who have similar music tastes as me, so we tend to talk about artists we enjoy and recommend stuff to each other. I mainly read music blogs and such, or go to my favourite music shop and the employees tell me about their favourites and I randomly buy on vinyl.

I am on last.fm, but mainly only use it to track what I've been listening to rather than discovering new music. Spotifys recommendations are surprisingly a great way to discover new music. I pay for Google Play Music and Spotify Premium.

Yes, I'm still listening to the radio on my way to work. And on the radio I open new music.
