How do you enable immersive mode (no root)?

A warranty replacement is on the way due to the nav bar being burnt into the display. To prevent this issue in the future, I plan on running in immersive mode and colouring the nav bar and perhaps also the notification bar whenever it must be used.

How do you enable immersive mode without rooting? Also, how do you colour the notification bar?

You'll need to use an app like GMD full screen if you want immersive mode without root. It's not as good as immersive mode in custom ROMs but it works.

Probably not necessary if you use immersive mode but you should be able to change Nav bar color with Navbar apps.

GMD will remove the notification bar as well. I use it with my XL.

Is there a way to get rid of that redness at the bottom of the screen with GMD? If not, do you recommend any other apps?

Probably have to pay for that to be removed

With the free version you can go into the settings and narrow it down to almost nothing. As someone said, maybe you can get rid of it on the paid version.
