how do you feel about the htc vigor to replace thunderbolt?

Don't matter to me. I'll never buy another phone that isn't a Motorola/Google.

I just got the TB and hearing this has me nerving. I don't like how phones get bumped so quickly.( YET they kept the horrible BB Storm in the line-up for a very long time for BB users. )

So I wonder what they will do with all the Thunderbolt users now that the Vigor will be replacing it.
And I also read the Prime is replacing the Charge.

LOL! They only kept the Storm because there was absolutely nothing else from RIM. The life cycle of these phones are pretty ridiculous. It's difficult to fathom that the original EVO and Incredible only came out a little over a year ago and yet it seems there have been a multitude of phones that have been leapfrogging each other. I have most of the things that I know I would be envious of in my Tbolt so I don't think (I hope) I'll get the itch to upgrade for a long time (I held onto my BB Storm1 for 30 months!).

The latest info circulating is that the Vigor is NOT replacing the Thunderbolt. Instead it is the Incredible HD. All of which makes sense as the leaked pix look nothing like the Thunderbolt, but more like the Incredible. The Thunderbolt 2 will most likely be sometime next year. Now that's a phone I'm highly anticipating assuming it will be similar (have a kickstand) and be much improved! :)

I just upgraded to the Thunderbolt almost two weeks ago. I am really disappointed that the devices don't even last a year now before they are discontinued. It is too bad this happens, but with new technologies you would think they could add upgrades even if they come out with another device. I happen to really like the Thunderbolt and as long as Verizon can take care of me should anything happen to my bolt, then I will be happy. Why it has to replace it is ridiculous. Both devices could still be in the store for the customer to decide. I happen to think the bolt has a great look. I just don't like how the extended battery looks and won't get it for that reason. And for small hands, it isn't easy to hold.

The same as when they released the Bold a few short months after i got my Tour. Im happy with my rooted t-bolt.

The Thunderbolt is not set to be discontinued any time soon.

I saw articles stating it was being replaced by the vigor. I hope this is incorrect. Tb is really awesome

This is an evitability these days. I like my Thunderbolt a lot, but I got it with a one year contract in March with the intention of getting the Nexus Prime (or whatever it ends up being called) as my next phone. I wasn't blown over by the Nexus S and I definitely wanted to try LTE. For all the issues we've seen with it, and bearing in mind it was the first LTE device, the Thunderbolt has done pretty well for itself. Once Gingerbread makes it out officially, I think a lot of people will be happy with it ultimately.
