I currently have an iPhone 6 along with an Apple Watch.
How do you like this watch compared to Apple's (assuming you've owned or used an Apple watch for a period of time).

Pros and Cons E.G. alerts, fitness apps integration, sound, connectivity reliability, comfort, and overall software user experience

Thanks

Apple watch can not be used standalone. So that will never fit my criteria. And Android Wear watch is not that useful when paired with iPhone despite what Google promotes.

I think you are going to get a lot of bias reviews on this website, and like foxbat said, you're going to get limited functionality with the Urbane if you plan on using it with your iPhone. That being said, my wife used the original Moto 360 with her iPhone for a while until she got an Apple Watch, and she said it actually worked pretty well. But not as complete as using the Apple Watch with an iPhone or using Android Wear with an Android phone...

So far the Urbane LTE is an amazing watch, and I personally prefer Android Wear over the Apple Watch's OS due to the fact that Android Wear is a very simplistic interface. Also, the Android Wear watches actually have watch faces, thousands of them, which I really like. It is a watch, after all. As far as notifications go, Android is great, very easy to read and dismiss or act upon if needed.

There are a ton of fitness apps that are fully supported for Wear. I personally use Runkeeper for all of my runs and walks, works perfect. I can say "OK, Google" start a run, and Runkeeper pops up and off I go. Very cool. I do also keep Google Fit running as well because it can do bpm from the watch and it keeps track of my steps throughout the day. Also, Runkeeper interfaces with Google Fit, so all of my tracked runs get absorbed into Google Fit. Very nice and easy.

As far as connectivity reliability, I haven't personally had any issues. I usually get about a 50 foot radius around the phone before BT disconnects, more than enough usually. Also having the GPS and LTE is really nice, love being able to go run or take the dog on a walk and not have to worry about carrying my phone. Or even just being able to leave my phone in my office for a meeting but still be connected (can be done over wifi or LTE).

Comfort overall is very subjective, but for me, I think my Moto 360 is probably more comfortable than the Urbane LTE, most likely because the Moto has a soft leather band. But the Urbane is by no means uncomfortable. I hardly even realize I'm wearing it most of the time.

Hoped that has helped a little. My advice is just go try it out. Most places have a 15 return policy, and after a few days, I think you'll know if you like it or not.

I'm thinking seriously about buying an Urbane 2 LTE, but have several concerns and thought perhaps you guys might be able to answer them. And all of my questions relate to when it is NOT connected to a smartphone, but rather being used as a standalone device.

1. Will it send and receive calls even when connected to wifi (I don't mean through wifi as I know that isn't possible)? I read in one review that this was a problem.
2. Can I receive my Exchange email through the watch? If not, what do you do about email?
3. Are you able to connect to a secured wifi network (i.e., insert a password) without being connected to your phone? Again, this concern came up in a recent review.
4. Can the watch accept Google Voice text messages?
5. How is the call quality talking (for the person you call) and listening (is the speaker loud enough under normal conditions)?
6. Can you easily connect the watch to a bluetooth headset?
7. How is OK Google working? One reviewer said it failed a bunch.
8. How well does it maintain a steady data connection with a link to a phone? Another reviewer concern.

Thanks in advance.

Excellent feedback everyone, that really helps.
And i'm eager to hear the answers to the poster above me.
I should note, even though I have the iPhone 6 and Apple Watch at this moment, I plan on getting an android phone (likely Note 4, free on 2 year commitment) when I make my decision.

Thanks

Pls start your own thread. Hijack other ppl's thread and post unrelated questions is simply rude.

I'll answer at least a few:

1. Yes, I tested this out myself at home. I put my phone on airplane mode, and I had wifi and LTE both turned on on the watch, I was able to call a buddy no problem. Using it this way forces the watch to use it's own phone number though, and not your regular number associated with the phone.

2. With your phone off, you won't be able to receive any notifications. The way the data for the watch works is it uses it's own LTE to talk to the cloud, which then talks to your phone. So if you get an e-mail, it'll pop up on your phone, and then it'll be passed along to the watch. Without your phone having a data connection, there isn't anything to pass along. Does that make sense?

3. For wifi, you can't connect to a network that your phone has never been connected too. There isn't a prompt (and well, no keyboard) for inserting passwords into the watch. But if your phone has ever been connected to it, then your watch can as well independently of your phone.

4. Don't use Google Voice, so can't help there.

5. The call quality is surprisingly good! The few conversations I've had on it so far, nobody was able to tell I wasn't on my phone. Actually, once I told my buddy I was on my watch, he thought the sound quality on his end was better than my phone! That being said, the speaker sounds great, but it's doesn't get very loud. In a crowded place or on the subway or something it probably won't be loud enough. But then again, why would you be talking on a speakerphone then anyway?

6. Don't have a BT headset, so can't help.

7. Ok Google works darn near perfectly. Just as good if not better than my 2nd gen Moto 360. Ambient noise, like if the TV is on and loud, are usually the biggest things that will screw it up...

8. Do you mean while the watch is using it's own LTE data? If so, again, your phone has to be on to connect, but I haven't had any trouble. Obviously it depends on how good the cell signal is when you're using the watch.

I like the Urbane 2 because it had LTE and provides convenience when running because I don't need the phone with me.

The fitness app of the Apple Watch is better then Google Fit. LG Health seems to have my HR at around 180bpm when just walking. I can't imagine what how high it would be when running. It's useless. Google fit doesn't continuously record my HR throughout a workout like the Apple Watch does. The Apple Watch shows your HR in real time so you can see it fluctuate depending on the intensity of your workout. Google Fit only gives me a snapshot of my HR. I have to keep manually updating it. Watch faces are soooo much better on Android Wear. I can't seem to find sports score apps that I can access on my watch so I have to settle for notifications. The Apple Watch has sports apps like ESPN, YahooSports, etc. Right on the Apple Watch. I can even have a complication with sports scores on it if I want.

I can't figure out Google Fit either. But LG Health can track my HR correctly during work out without problem. The problem is if you just take HR alone, it seems always off. I attribute it to the fact that the band is too stiff so that the sensor won't be properly located.
Wish there is an LG Health app on the phone. It seems have been removed from Play market together with the watch. So, LG Health on the watch is kind of useless without a phone app.

I have a iPhone and Apple Watch since release. My urbane is in the mail on the way to me so when it gets here I can give you a review. I got my Apple Watch because I got sick of taking my 6 plus around with me. So I though if I get the watch my wife can hold on to my phone and I can get my messages. Works most times but when I have a guys night out id love to have a watch that I can throw a SIM card in. You may want to look at the k8 round smart watch as well it runs full android 4.2.

The LG Health app for smartphones only come stock with LG phones. It was never available for download from the Playstore.

I have had the urbane a couple of days and have been using it with my iPhone. It's a nice watch with good battery life. It's very limited what it can good with a iPhone but it's nice to be able to throw a SIM card and leave my phone behind. I've had the Apple Watch since launch and I like it as well. You can do more with the Apple Watch but it always has to be near your phone to be any use. I also find the Apple Watch is a little small now. I hope Apple Watch 2 adds LTE and a round race. Apple Watch is a better built watch but the price is way to high on the Apple Watch. I paid 1500 for mine with the link band and lg urbane was only 300.

Was looking at the Apple Watch on display at Target. Showed a lady who was also looking at the Apple Watch my Urbane 2nd. She stated my watch made the Apple Watch look like a "child's toy".
