How do you put the Galaxy Note 5 in dock mode?

Long ago I had a Droid X and a Razr. I could buy docks for home and car. 2 years ago I got a Note 3 and just recently got a Note 5. I have tried and tried to figure out how I can particularly at home to show the time like an alarm clock while they're charging overnight. Is there a waaaaaaaaaaay?

Get a clock app like "Alarm clock plus" and get a cheap stand and leave it plugged in. Or get a wireless charging stand and your favorite alarm clock app.
