How do you Sync Outlook?

Very easy just download the newest HTC sync program from their website and it works perfect. Then set up my email accounts on the phone like you did in outlook when you first set that up. I set up my yahoo and other personal email account in minutes. Im also using windows 7 with outlook 2010 beta and the sync worked perfect for my calendar and contacts.

CompanionLink syncs tasks and notes to Android, in addition to contacts and calendar. If you use categories in Outlook, those carry over in the sync, so you're able to sort your task and notes lists by category. The calendar and contacts also supports categories as well.

There's a 14-day free trial at www.companionlink.com/androidusb

I hope this helps everybody out there looking for a complete solution to sync Android and Outlook!

Kaena,

Is CompanionLink compatible with Windows 7 64-Bit?

Thanks,

Wow, this whole Outlook/ Google/ HTC Sync communication SUCKS!!!! I am getting all kind of duplicates in my calendars and contacts. Waaaay too time consuming going thru and individually deleting just for it to duplicate again next sync. There HAS to be a way!! And I certainly hope there is a free app somewhere for memos/ tasks. $39 is the pits!

This is how I spent my entire day. I first tried it on a Windows 7 Netbook with its built-in trial version of Office 2007, no dice. It didn't come with Outlook. Downloaded a trial version of Office 2010, to find that Windows Mobile Device Center isn't compatible yet. Then tried Active Syncing on a Windows 2000 Professional PC. It didn't recognize my old phone; that Office was messed up and wouldn't allow removal or reinstall.

So... I finally went back to an ancient laptop, ran Active Sync there to put Contacts, Tasks & Calendar in Outlook and export all 3 to .csv files.

So you think it'd be smooth sailing from there, right? HA!

Come to find out someone had my preferred name already, so I couldn't get the Gmail account I wanted. I tried to set up another one, but Google said it already existed; would I like to retrieve the password? When I tried that, they said it didn't exist. Come on now! It was past noon and I was still nowhere near ready to abandon my old phone.

Now whatever you first put on the Incredible as a Gmail address is not removable or changeable unless you wipe the phone. Mine was married to a third Gmail account I was locked out of, but they finally decided to graciously accept my password after runnng the Captcha gauntlet about five times. So I had to figure out a way to put all of my info from the new Gmail account that I fought so hard to establish, into the original one. Because Lord knows I can't deal with three Gmails at this point.

That went ok, except for Tasks. There's no way to import Tasks into Google! Calendar, sure, Contacts, yes, but no frickin' Tasks!

So I don't have a clue what I need to get done in upcoming months, but hey, at least that's one way to relieve stress... erase your to-do list. Voila, no more pending jobs. :)

It is now 12 hours since I first started to merge my phone info, and I'm going to deal with the Tasks dilemma tomorrow.

Installed on both PC and HTC. However, when I tap Sync on the Incredible, nothing happens.

Where do you download htc Sync? I went to htc.com/us/support.aspx as directed by the book and still couldn't find it.

just google search for it its like the first or second hit for the download link

IMO your missing out on some the greatest feature on android....NEVER plugging it in to a computer. I use google calendar sync for outlook, there are also programs that will do both your calendar and your contacts if you add and remove contacts often.

I love adding an appointment on my phone and when I get to work and open outlook it's already there.

But I want Contacts, Appointments, and Tasks. Which I currently keep in Outlook on my PC.

g-mail

Just placed my order for the Incredible last night, and am excited. This looks like the phone I have been waiting for for a long time (I currently still use a Treo Palm 700p).

LOTS of stuff to learn, but first big question. How do I sync to Contacts, Calender, and Tasks in Outlook directly on my PC?

I also just got rid of my treo 700 thank goodness, now I know why they call it the incredible its just that, I got g-mail works great its not hard to transfer to g-mail takes secs.

I couldn't get the HTC synch (even from the installer on my phone) to recognize the Incredible on WIndows 7 64 bit. So I've been using CampanionLink. I'm down to a few more days on the trial and I think I'll buy it. It's kind of nice actually as you never have to connect the phone to your computer to synch. CompanionLink syncs to your google account, then your google account syncs separately to your droid.
