How does everyone like their Note?

I used a Note 5 for awhile and absolutely loved it! Soon after played around with a Note 7 and after that whole situation went south, ended up getting a Pixel XL. The Note 8 definitely has my attention for a fall upgrade!

Just got it today. Coming from s8 and s8+. This phone is NOT the same as those two. It's way better. Everything is better, the screen, the design, smoothness of the interface, no lags or frame drops unlike the s8, stays cool, battery life seems better. Also so many apps stay open for ever, way better ram management than the s8. Overall the best Android phone I've ever used. period!

I have 8 plus but I wanted the note. Love this phone. But I do miss my coral blue from note 7. I got orchard grey

I had mine delivered yesterday and will be sending it back today. It drained ten percent whilst I was asleep for 5 hours and it doesn't charge quickly at all. I think I have a dodgy battery

I've had it since 9/5 and it's a device that's hard to put down. When I do put it down or stand it up on the charger I find myself glancing over at the always on display and reaching for it again.

So far I think it is great! I am coming from the Note 4 it is way snappier then my note 4 , the extra ram and processor is more than what the note 4 had lol so it is a win there alone. I have always wondered why they never went larger than 5.7 on screen size ( and always wanted larger) do definite plus for me, I just wish it was not quite so narrow it seem like it could have been a bit wider. So far I am having no problem using the finger scanner. I think it is a great phone!

another thing to note is that the orchard grey on the note is quite different than the one on the s8. I have both, the note is more like a slate grey hue. both are beautiful in their own way though. the grey on the note looks more professional for obvious reasons

Love about 95% of the phone. This is high for me, I have only had the phone for 11 days. Coming from a Note 4. The Note 4 was the best phone I have ever used, but after 2.5 years it was having a few issues.

My only two complaints are the aspect ratio and the curved screen. I have big hands and loved the Note 4s width. The major thing I dislike is the curved display. What is the point of the curve other than making the phone more prone to have expense broken displays. The new iPhone X zero bezel type display would be great with the SPen. That said I knew all of this before I bought the phone. All of the other positives greatly outweigh the two annoyances.

I think the Note 8 is a great phone.

One year... that's all? You mean the phone or you can't last two years? ??????

I update every year, sometimes more than once if a device entices me enough. I've been missing the Note line since the Note 7 and I'm not leaving for a long time.

I had the orchid gray S8 and I prefer the orchid gray of my Note 8 as well.

Agree with your points on the curved display being vulnerable. I got the 8 on the 9th, I am coming from a Note 4 also. With the Otterbox Commuter on the 4 it was the perfect size, and I didn't feel like I was going to drop it - I've got the Spigen Neo Hybrid Crystal clear case on the 8 (waiting for the Whitestone dome, so just the Neo Flex screen protector for now), but that doesn't add quite enough 'grip' to make the phone feel secure. I do have longer fingers and a larger hand so holding it isn't an issue. I will also add the Otterbox did not protect the 4 from a screen break - it hit the floor on the upper right corner, had a spider web crack that didn't affect usage, but looked awful. Hopefully the 8 will be thoroughly protected once the WD is installed. Even with insurance, it'll cost $299 to replace a broken screen.

I had the Note 7 in that lovely blue, it is a shame they didn't offer use that lovely blue again. The Orchid Grey is not even close. The night before I turned the 7 in it fell face first on the bathroom tile floor and split right in half :( Even with a case on it.

It's snappy, responsive, and all in all a nice upgrade from the 4. I graduated from Palm Pilots to Android, started out with that poor Captivate (coming from the Garmin iQue 3600 the GPS on the Captivate stunk!!!) but the minute the Note series came out I bought one and have had one since. The price was a little hard to swallow, but I knew that going in. Gotta have it!

I just got mine yesterday. My mom did, too. I had a note 4. She had a note 5. We are both very happy with our new phones. Dad even got a new phone! Lol. But he got the DuraForce Pro.

The note 8 is a pretty amazing phone. As an artist, the note series is really the best there is out there for me right now.

Definitely liking it so far, one of the best Samsung experience in terms of no stutter/lag even after more than a week of usage till now. Used the S8+ which was way better than previous Samsung phones but still was not completely happy with software but Note 8 feels they have optimized more and performance is buttery smooth. Definitely wouldn't mind using this as daily driver for long time, but I'm a fickle mind so will keep jumping between devices.

But overall

Coming from a Galaxy S8+. This is my first Note. I've read so much over the past few days that the Note 8 is basically a Galaxy S8++ but I would strongly disagree.

First, the design of the Note 8 is much better than the S8+. I didnt realize how rounded the S8+ was until I got the Note 8 in my hands. The Note 8 is much more comfortable to hold. The screen on the Note 8 is not as curved as the S8+ which makes a huge difference. I compared both displays next to each other and the Note 8 actually looks better. I was skeptical when I heard reviews that the display was better, but I did notice a difference and improvement on the Note 8.

Second, the Note 8 is much more responsive than the S8+. I will factor in that the Note 8 is brand new and the S8+ had been used since release, so I know I have the famous android slow-down that plagues any device. But I cant help but notice how much snappier the Note 8 is. Transitioning between apps is amazing. Animations are quicker. Texts send faster. Internet browsing is quicker. The overall experience of this phone is much better than the S8+. My last device was a Nexus 6p, rooted and custom rom'd, and I don't think I have/ever will use another phone that moved and responded as quick as my Nexus 6p, but the Note 8 seems to be almost as quick.

Last, typing. I am not sure what did it, but the S8+ was the worst phone I have ever typed on. I was using multiple keyboards to try to find one that would work. But it just never seemed to function like other devices I have used. I was constantly making errors. Typing never felt right. I was even having issues with autorcorrect, it never seemed to function properly. The typing experience on the Note 8 is MUCH MUCH better. Can't say enough good about it.

I know a lot of people have knocked those of us who have transitioned from a S8+ to the Note 8, but I have no regrets and would even suggest to those of you who can, upgrade to the Note 8.

I love mine. Been using it all morning to text on and experimenting with the pen. I've forgotten a lot of things you can do with the pen besides drawing and writing.
