We know that the first three Initial ASUS EeePad Transformer stock sells out in the UK. The UK is not getting more until June now.

Asus is making an unprecedented move to release the Transformer for $200 less than the Xoom and at 20 retailers:

? Amazon.com
? American TV
? B&H
? BestBuy.com (and local stores)
? BJ's
? Buy.com
? Datavision
? Frys.com (and local stores)
? HH Gregg
? J&R
? Micro Center
? Newegg.com
? OfficeMax.com (and local stores)
? OfficeDepot.com (and local stores)
? PC Richards
? Sears.com (and local stores)
? Staples.com (and local stores)
? Target.com (and local stores)
? TigerDirect.com
? Walmart.com (and local stores)

That is about 80,000 retail stores plus whatever goes to the internet side. Will each retail store even get 5? The Keyboard Dock is what sets this apart. Will they have enough?

If you are getting a Transformer, what are you doing to make sure that you actually get one? Will you get the 16GB model and add your own 32GB microSD ~ $60 or 32GB SD ~ $50 later?

How fast do you think the Transformer will sell out?

I'm not sure if it'll sell out--depends on how much advertising is done, I think, which so far hasn't been much--but out of curiosity, where did you get the list that includes "(and local stores)" I don't remember seeing the list presented this way... Until now, I've been assuming that not all brick and mortar stores will be carrying the device.

To be honest I dont think it will sell out on its first day. Sure, everyone that frequents this forum knows about it, and alot of us are really excited to get one. But average folks probably have no clue of its existance, and theres alot more of them than us. Not to mention ASUS isnt doing much marketing. This isnt an apple product, ASUS and Android dont have the same kind of name recognition. Which is totally fine by me, it means more awesome products that I dont have to wait in a huge line for.

Of course I could be totally wrong about this, I didnt think Id have such a hard time finding an EVO either...

I'm sure some stores will be sold out, but I bet a person will be able to get one somewhere in town if they want to.

When the Xoom released, the Best Buy in town was sold out, but the Staples all had stock available.

Based on the info so far, the Transformer has apparently achieved the impossible. It sold out before going on sale at most retailers.

Does anyone know if it's actually sold out or there is a glitch/mistake and it hasn't gone on sale yet on these sites? Have people been ordering with confirmed shipping yet?

Could it be that stores haven't gotten their shipments yet? I went to a local BestBuy and was looking at the Acer tablet. A salesman came up to me and he seemed like he knew what he was talking about. I asked him about the Transformer, and he said they will be getting in shipments, but he didn't think they would arive for the store opening. He did say that typically with items like this, they will get in a large initial shipment, but after that they could be sold out for a while.

BestBuy.com is sold out online and apparently no stores in the orange county area have them.

I ordered it for in store pickup early this morning (and it will take 2 weeks) and now even that is not available.

If I was in the market for a tab, I would jump on this one over everything else out. Wouldn't surprise me to see it sell "hot." The xoom is nice, but I like this better on several fronts.

i ended up having to buy mine locally on craigslist for $440 unopened shipped from amazon. I just couldn't wait any longer now I just hope by the time I get used to this tab that the keyboard docks will be readily available.
