How I got my Chromecast to work - WiFi not turned on

I finally figured out how to get over the Wifi not turned on message on my PC. I have a Zone Alarm firewall and apparently it was blocking access to the Chromecast device. I opened up Zone Alarm and went to Firewall View Details => Settings under Application Control => View Programs. Next I went down to Chrome_updater.exe and right clicked under the trust level and selected trusted. I did that for every instance. I did the same for Chromecast App. Rebooted the computer and it worked. I hope works for you.
