how is the G2 holding up?

Thinking about getting my son his first phone, I currently have the V10 and love it.

So the G2 is pretty cheap on eBay, thinking about getting him that or the 1st Droid MAXX.

How is the G2 holding up?

Ha, well, I guess that clears it up.

I had the G2 when it first came out, but haven't used one in over a year. I currently have the V10 and love it.

My mom has a Droid MAXX and it is pretty solid.

I'm using my 2 year old G2 as backup phone and media player. Still runs great and gets very good battery life on CM 12.

I'm using CM13 nightlies and my G2 is performing like a beast (besides minor bugs due to the nature of nightlies) I haven't used the droid maxx 1 besides in a display model but I would go for the g2 personally, just add a good case as when the screen breaks the touch too goes with it (~$50 for a new screen). I have a small tpu case from diztronic on mine and I have no issues so far
