How is the Notch useful on OP6?

It drives me nuts, not having a "full" battery status up there. I really prefer both the battery pic, for quick-glance read, AND the percentage, for an exact one, seems reasonable enough.

I know I can use many 3rd party solution here, but would prefer not to, ideally, because they'll likely break when OP makes a change...

I have mine set on notch-less, which makes it slightly more tolerable, even with this "missing" information.

I LOVE 16:9 screens, always thought that was plenty "wide" enough, ratio-wise. They're also easier to hold, work, IMO, with small-medium hands you can still reach almost all of a 5.7 screen (my 6P was a good example).

I'm with you on the icon/percentage. That's obviously a take away due to the limited space, so I get it. But when I switched to battery percentage, I was disappointed to see only the percentage. Oh well! I'd still rather that then no percentage.

I know I know, we can never be happy even though we got what we wanted. Lol
