Seriously how is LG doing this when the Note ll is a couple of hundred dollars more? I mean it's amazing how LG is able to consistently give the best value for the dollar.

Newsflash - smartphones are grossly overpriced to begin with. There is a healthy profit margin built into the MSRP...

I'm not complaining about the price lol. The Note 2 is $649. I'm happy to buy a phone outright that isn't $600+

LG is the underdog. They have to sell it cheaper. Since Nexus devices are sold at, or a little below cost, their cost gives you some indication of how much it costs to build these devices.

I'd really like to see how cheap this phone goes in a few months time...if it became a good deal I'd debate getting one instead of the s4. I've seen tons of reviews that basically say it's better in most ways. Almost like a sleeper phone. Which works out for the consumers lol. Just not too sure about that monster screen though. I do love the ui much more than Samsung's extremely outdated touchwiz.

ATT usually drops the on contract price. For some reason after initial release the no commitment price sometimes rises by $100.

I Love the device. Im very disappointed that there is no XDA forum for this device. No root. The s4 and htc one had root before it was even released. I wanted the S4 or HTC One but I had the note 2 on verizon and gave it up for a nexus 4 and I missed the big screen. SO if I can just get root ill be happy for now.

A forum has been requested over at XDA. Give it some time. Also, plenty of people are claiming to have root.

We do have root. Check the ATT Optimus G general forum. Root for the OG works on the Pro as well. The fact that this phone doesn't have its own dedicated forum in other places is insulting.

You're not telling me anything I don't already know since I'm a nexus ⁴ user since 9/13/12 and I don't think the tone is needed either. I was simply commenting on the fact the company is able to resist marking up their products as much as everyone.

The phone is objectively superior to the note ll in every way except battery life for some reason. And if you look down the line they have the best bang for the buck value on every single carrier.

I am glad to hear it has root, bootloader would be awesome as well :) but seriously the lack of an XDA-Developers forum is insulting and they did forward my request on but never heard back on if they will or won't create a section. tough to get dev support if they don't have a section for it.

That and why is the S 4 $749.

The real question should be why is the note 2 $649

As a Note 2 owner I agree. Screen especially.

This might be an illusion but it seems that as I use my Optimus G Pro the battery is lasting longer each time between charges, and doesn't drain down as fast during use. Maybe some kind of conditioning?

That's typical of all phones.

To be honest, though, it usually takes me a couple of days to find all the energy optimization techniques that seem to work best for each phone. So the increase in battery life may be no more than battery-saving techniques being put into practice - at least in my case and at least partly.

To be honest if I had another $300 handy I would probably sell my nexus⁴ just to have this beast.

I had this phone for 14 days before going to S4. I loved it but I liked the 5" feel in the hand of the S4 a little better. I will probably but this phone at full retail again soon as it gets 4.2/4.3
I loved it. There are many things about it that are better than the S4. 5.5" was just a little jarring after being on a 4" iPhone for years.
Now I realize I should have just kept it. Not that I dislike my S4 at all. $549 is a Great price for this phone.

XDA forums is up and running :)
