i have a verizon version. when i boot up, everything appears normal, until my main screen with wallpaper comes up. no icons loaded at that point, and no signal. then the phone literally does nothing for 65 seconds, then eventually all the icons and widgets load. i dont remember this taking as long. how long does yours take?

I don't have this phone but when things like that start happening it could be time for cache wipe in recovery technique.

this is happening with the replacement device i just got. so i was seeing if this is normal.

Mine does not take that long.... It takes about 40 seconds from releasing the power button.

I'm on Verizon and it doesn't take near that long to boot up. I'm also using a third party launcher.

I would have suggested the same thing, but as hard as I have looked, it appears that the V20 has absolutely no recovery mode to get into. I've Googled, searched and asked. This is the first phone, that I can remember anyway, in years that has no way to boot into recovery mode.

Using Stock launcher and theme. I think the phone took long time to load even before I did the lg restore.

The OP has a Verizon version, which can be booted into recovery. I doubt that will help because it sounds like the replacement did it from the start too.

Fyi, here's the steps for the Verizon version to get into recovery:

-Reboot if not already powered down, otherwise power on the phone
-go through the LG splash screen as normal
-when the Verizon "hello" animation starts, press and hold the power and volume down buttons
-keep holding the buttons, and the phone will appear to reboot
-Keep holding the buttons during the reboot until it enters recovery. If you let off before this, it'll revert to a regular reboot.

Well after resetting my new and old phone again, I figured out my sd card was the issue. Without my sd card in, the phone boots up in half the time. And after paying more attention I think the phone was pausing on startup while the card was being read. Now I need to see if this was the cause of my lagging as I posted on another thread. So far no lag.

Which SD card brand do you have and how old?

Samsung evo 128gb card. Maybe 2 or less years old.

Interesting. Were you storing apps/app data to it with previous devices? You may have corrupt files in there so I would suggest you save your files and reformat it. If you still have the same problems after that then you probably have bad sectors in the flash mem and should replace it with a new card.

My Verizon phone just took 75 seconds to start up, including the time to enter my security code.

Lateck,

Lateck,

It should not take that long unless there is an extreme amount of items loading in the background.

I have a 8 digit password to enter and fat fingers.. :-) So subtract 20~25 seconds... maybe.
I don't think that is very long, really. I do also have 165 apps loaded,,, :-)

Lateck,
