Re: first time charging?

Welcome to Android Central! Not really. They say that more for liability reasons. You really just have to charge it until it hits 100%, and maybe for another 30 minutes afterwards. Then use the phone normally.

When I get a new device, I run the current battery down to 0%. Charge it fully then run it all the way down again. Charge it up and you good to go.

I have read on a lot of tech sites that running these batteries to zero is actually bad for the battery. I know they don't have memory anymore, so "training" the battery is no longer needed. I plug mine in whenever I am going to be in one spot for about an hour. Not a problem with the battery, if I want I can go all day without a charge, but I don't GIMP my phone. Live wallpapers, full brightened, and everything on that I might possibly need. ;)

There is some theory that you should really charge the battery when it gets to 40%. ...but with a removable battery I'd not worry too much.

Never had a problem. I got my Edge (Sprint) the day it was released. I put it on the charger an hour before I leave for work to get a full charge. Moderate to heavy use while at work (9 hours) leaves me at approximately 32% by the time I get home. Phone doesn't go back on the charger till the next day before I go back to work. My experience? I'm good. 😃
