How long should I wait to hear word on an AT&T Galaxy Nexus?

Is it me or am i just getting really tired of playing this guessing game with ATT? It took them forever to get nexus s and not even a single rumor about if/when att will get the galaxy nexus. Im so over it just come out and say yea we'll
Get the phone in summer 2012 right before the next nexus is announced. And im sure by then there will be a handfull more att lte phones and markets. I really like the galaxy nexus but a part of me just wants to say screw it and pick up a lte phone ( i live in new york so im sure we will get lte some time in 2012) i really like ICS and i know it will take forever to get an ICS update on any phone other than the nexus s

just to add to my previous comment...

which phone do you think ATT will release first, the HSPA+ galaxy nexus or an LTE Iphone 5 or w/e they wanna call it?

I would think if the Galaxy Nexus comes over, it would be LTE-capable. It wouldn't make sense for them to release it s HSPA+ with the GS II Skyrocket being LTE out now.

Edit:to answer your question, Galaxy Nexus first. It'd be too soon to release the iPhone 5 with the 4S just coming out.

The U.S. carrier hate the Nexus phones. None of them carried it in store. Verizon looks like it will be web only as far as I can see with the leaks. The biggest poke in the eye of at&t user would to just release the HSPA+ version and then sell against it with an LTE device. But I have no problem with an HSPA+ version. I won't see LTE in my are until late 2012 or early 2013.

My guess is at&t and t-mobile will let Best Buy Mobile and or Amazon Wireless sell it on contract through their stores. When that is anybody's guess. Business sense tells me release it in time for the holidays.

iPhone 5 or iPhone 4s HD will get LTE before a Google Nexus device getting LTE.

I think I have pretty much made up my mind on this. I am eligible for an upgrade December 1st, if by that date there is reason to believe the Galaxy Nexus will be available soon then I will wait a bit longer, but if we don't know any more by then than we do now I am just going to get the Galaxy S2.

I just hope I can find a deal on it like is going on right now (you can pick up the GS2 from Best Buy for $100 and get $100 in Reward Zone points to use to buy stuff online or in the store. So, as long as you use the gift card to buy stuff you would have purchased anyway (Christmas presents, electronics, etc) then the phone is essentially free. I was so disappointed that I couldn't take advantage of that deal.

Yea I got an upgrade due 11/16 this year. I am giving Google/Samsung or at&t to make some kind of announcement on a on contract release date by the end of December. They can release it in Jan. but I want to know. My Nexus One is on its last legs.

If they aren't selling Nexus on contract, renew for an iP4S, sell it for 300+ profit, and use towards purchase of Nexus. I say iP4S because that is probably the easiest thing to unload at a good price.

Nexus S is carried in stores and subsidized.

I intend to try that, post an ad offering to sell the iPhone 4S (before I actually have it) and if I have any bites I will go ahead and upgrade to it and then sell it, then buy the international version.

However, I did post an ad for it already a few days ago (just to gauge interest) with an asking price of $600 and I didn't have any interest at all, except for one email that may or may not have been spam (it didn't seem like a legitimate email, so I ignored it).

I have thought of that but then I would have to jailbreak it and unlock it to get real value.

Ditto. My Nexus One is getting a bit tired, but understandable since I've maxed it as far as I can with it. I respectfully disagree with you though on the Galaxy Nexus coming over as HSPA+. :) With the S II Skyrocket out now, I would think the Nexus would be LTE too.

I say it is most likely HSPA+ because that one has gone through the FCC. No HSPA+/LTE Nexus has come through that I have seen on the FCC site.

I don't think this will ever be a subsidized phone on AT&T. They didn't do it for the N1.

But they did do it for the Nexus S. I believe it'll be on contract sometime in the next 6 months, importing mine from abroad though so I don't have to wait.

If it drops in price to $600 or less unsubsidized then I think I will upgrade to an iPhone 4S, sell it for $500, then sell my iPhone 4 for $300 or $350 and then turn around and then I won't really be out any more money than I would have been to sell my iPhone 4 and buy the Skyrocket.

I have to know something by December though, I don't think I can wait too much longer. I just don't know if the Nexus is worth it considering I could spend less money and considerably less effort (regarding the upgrading and then selling it). I just hope it comes to AT&T before the end of the year or they at least announce something about it being available at Best Buy or something like that. I really want the Nexus but it really does seem like it will be a lot of hassle to get.

Anyway, hopefully we will get some concrete information one way or another soon so that I will know exactly what my options are and then make a decision.
