How long should my fully charged Samsung S3 hold it's charge while not being used?

how long should my fully charged samsung s3 hold it's charge while not being used.

I've been told 72 hours maximum. I have nothing to drain the battery turned on. My LG phone would give me almost a week without having to recharge.
