How long til we see Lollipop?

i recently upgraded to the 2014 moto X. it's more of a downgrade. There is no way to use voice over data yet. honestly? I liked the 2013 X better. The 2014 i think is too big, and no voice over data? Dmark44 i'll take un customizable commands any day vs no voice over data. EPIC FAIL verizon.

That's why I'm hoping we can get a couple of the new software features that the 2014 Moto X has. I'm in no rush to upgrade partly for that reason.

I'll bet we start hearing about soak tests for the pure editions by the end of the month.

Don't be in such a rush. My 2012 Nexus 7 Tablet has really been effected badly by the Android 5 update. Even after a factory reset and clearing the cache, my nexus 7 runs far slower then it ever did on Kit Kat.

I just updated one of the new 2014 model X's in a Verizon Wireless store with lollipop 5.0, and all I've got to say is lollipop 5.0 is smooth as hell...

When it's ready.

Haha but on a more serious note the Moto X 2013 will get the Lollipop update however no one is completely sure when.

Re: Android Lollipop?

I thought I read somewhere that someone from Moto said it would get it before the end of this year. Maybe it was a G+ post?

Re: Android Lollipop?

I read by the end of the year as well, nothing more specific than that.

Re: Android Lollipop?

Careful what you wish for.
Benefits of Lollipop on OG Moto X seem dubious to me.
Many of it's touted features are already Moto X specific.
Meanwhile, as with any new OS rollout, L exhibits numerous bugs.
I'm not saying L stinks but we will be better off if there is no hurry.
That said; I look forward to it also.

Re: Android Lollipop?

I would guess "maybe" at the end of this year at the earliest. :)

I hope it's by the end of the year. I've got Lollipop on my GPad GPE, and I haven't noticed any bugs. I'm getting better battery life off the bat, and it runs even s smoother than KitKat.
