how many gigs of data do you use a month?

I use 2-3 GB/month on my unlimited plan. I managed just a touch over 5 GB in my highest usage month when I was traveling a lot.

Gosh! I could easily do 15 Gigs while out of work just surfing while looking for jobs and keeping up with the news and forums on a laptop.

Looks like I will have to hold that down to 5 GB on a phone.

No way will I pay more than $10 per Gig to anyone. That is highway robbery!

Anyone have an idea how much we pay for those stupid ads?

I usually get pretty close to the 4 gig mark every month. I was looking at the shared plans and I can understand why Verizon is trying that out, but I know they will be tweaking the rates as time goes on, its just another stage in the evolution of mobile devices.

I reach the 4gig because most of time im in wifi

Most of the time Im on wifi, so I barely use over 1gig unless I really try. But that will probably increase as I will be travelling more. Gotta love Netflix and Crackle!!! ;)

I am almost always under 1GB of data. I try to use wifi whenever I can and when I am out I'm mainly just checking email or using twitter.

I am a bit all over the place but I can use between 2gb and 5gb

I still refuse to believe I am a "heavy user" as I rarely stream but check email a LOT, download some podcasts (some, not a lot), use maps, etc....

polls are easier to view and while it probably dont make a difference, that is for 4g data which isn't available to everyone

Ah. Polls don't show up in the AC app.

Normally 3_4 gigs once i heard they were doing unlimited screwing over i streamed Pandora for a month so this month 8

My wife and I collectively use around 6gb/mo. I use Netflix, web, Craigslist Pro, Pandora, internet radio, Angry Birds (which I've heard is a data-streaming monster), and Speedtest, just because.

Now for my proposed beef: If Verizon takes my unlimited data away (I've been a customer since '03), I will be paying to have ads streaming to me. That's not OK. Furthermore, I've not been able to get the time to root my phone, so I've had to keep the VZ Crap from updating what seems like every day... If I were using any of that, I'd expect them to take that out of my bill. I'm so tired of paying to pay so that I can pay for stuff I paid for that I was told I'd never have to pay for...

I never thought about the Verizon bloatware usage and updates with limited data packages. That sucks. In a fair world it should be handled like texts from Verizon but I am sure it won't.

There is a way to avoid the update issue by going to the settings in the Google Play app and checking the box for updates on wifi only.

I've averaged 4GB a month the last 6 months with a high of 5GB. That's with ONE smartphone. I have 5 lines, 4 are dumbphones. If I switched to shared plan, my kids would break me. Oh sure, I'm gonna ground 3 college kids? Me: Go to your room! Them: OK. ..sending email on my shared data.... Party Friday in Dorm A, room 201. BYOB!

And they'd stream music all night long, LOL!

And how would I ground my wife? Guess I could cut her off.....:D

The amount you guys are using seems crazy.... Wifi is almost everywhere

I use about 4. I drive a lot and use Google Music. Its always downloading the songs because I flash ROMs and the local data is cleared.

I plan on leaving Verizon when my contract is up, but in the mean while, I will be video chatting on my phone as much as I can. Oh also watch videos since thats what 4G is meant for. Hope the network is ready for me.

I still can't understand why every time they give you something, they take it away. I want to leave Verizon as well, but nothing else out there works in this area. I tried to switch to AT&T (thank God I didn't), and they wanted $2000 to get two iPhones (not the 4, the first one). This was before Android came out. It didn't matter that my history with Verizon was long and almost flawless, and I already had a DSL account with AT&T. No bundle option, because "it's a different entity".

Price plans are only $10 increments for an extra 2gb and u can use mobile hot spot for free...u can change plan as often as u want and unlimt txt and voice for practically same price or in most cases cheaper

My plan with Koodo here in Canada allows for 3GB @ 30$/mos & I try to not go over, but it's only 2cents/MB overage so I don't sweat it and sometimes go as high as 4GB.

I use about 5-10 GB a month. Streaming music at 192kbps and email and some web.

I thought I was a huge user and the thought of losing unlimited was killing me. And I thought the new share plan would bleed me to death. Bit my laptop and my tablet are not in the plan. Its the jetpak I have and then my phone. I pay 163 now with my CORP discount. I am choosing the 6 gig. I average 4 gig. My new plan will be 124 with my discount. That's huge for me. I have been full time employed since November. I was unemployed for a year. Its tough trying to still play catch up and if I can save a few bucks am going to do it. The new plan will shot me fine

I used to use about 6-7GB, with streaming audio hour commute to and from work, along with GPS. But as Sprint network has slowed down, not just about 1GB.
