how many minutes does it take your Note 2 to charge from completely dead to full battery?

when my Note 2 is completely dead (i.e. left overnight and forgot to charge), I plugged it in using the original Samsung charger.
it only took 2 hours and 12 minutes to reach 100%. (phone stayed off the whole time)

is this too fast or too slow?

Seems about right

Sounds like you could benefit from one of these (shameless plug, they're awesome!): :D

Samsung Note 2 Stand and Spare Battery Charger (3100mAh Battery Included)

I'm extremely tempted to buy one of these for that rare occasion they the power goes out. I use my phone a lot and when a storm comes out of no where I panic because my battery is near dead and I don't have a spare. :D

Why not just get a power bank? You can use it on any device.

I second the power bank.
Go on Amazon and check some out on there. There are plenty of reasonable priced ones.
Anker makes some nice compact ones.
EZO has some nice solar power ones.

Problem with that is your phone is stuck tethered to it for the duration it takes to get a charge. Whereas with a spare battery, you just swap it out and you're instantly back to a 100% charge without anything stuck tethered to your phone. Now just throw the depleted battery in the charger and go about your business knowing it'll be ready later when you need it. Oh, and it also doubles as a stand! :D

Yeah, being connected to a plug is kind of a downer at times.
Sometimes I do miss having my battery charging bundle that I had with my Q10. I tucked in nicely behind the phone, and didn't make it difficult to use while charging at all.

If you use it a lot then it makes sense. If you only use it on the rare occasion, it doesn't make much sense to me at least

I charge my Note 2 while it's on. I never let my battery go dead, but after a long day and night my battery can be down to 20%.

I have tested from 5% once and this was just to check the charge time. It took 2h 42m to charge fully.

Most days I charge from 30%-40% though and it takes about an hour and a half to 2 hours.

I find that it charges from 1-89% very fast. It's the last 10% that it slows down.

All I know is I never have to wait more then 2 hours when I charge it from 30 or 40% to fully charged.

Add one more vote for the OEM Samsung spare battery and charger. The fact we can change out batteries is the biggest reason I went with this device rather than the RAZR MAXX.
