How many Nest thermostats do I need?

I was given a nest thermostat for a gift because my son heard I was looking into them. My question is that we have three thermostats in our home (3 zones/1 system), so will I need three nests or can I just install this nest on the "main" zone and keep the manual Honeywells on the other two?
