How many running custom roms?

Finally flashed CM 12.1 and I was kind of underwhelmed. I've ran cm several times on the past on various devices and it always made those phones better. On the N6 though it just doesn't do anything for me. Stock software with root, xposed and gravity box has me loving this thing. How many folks run custom roms and why? Thanks.

Got mine about Thanksgiving 2014. Have run most of the custom roms. All have serious advantages over stock and have different features.
CM seems pretty vanilla this time around.
Broken (2 versions), Optipop, Terminus, Benzo, Euphoria, Dirty Unicorns, Blisspop, & Others each with their own customizations and idiosyncrasies. I enjoy exploring them all.

What are some features that keep you on them and not stock?

DT2W/DT2S, clear all recents, notification LED with custom colors, 4 different reboot options, quick pulldown, are just some of the things I like about my custom rom. I'm running Pure Nexus with Project Fi support, Hells Core Kernel, and the latest Moto radio. Runs like a dream.

All of these except for the LED I have with gravity box. Double tap is my favorite thing on a smartphone.

All those plus true Silent mode, adding missing menu button & other buttons. All built in. Don't need a bunch of apps, xposed mods, etc to accomplish the same things.

I'm using "jdx 3.0(m-preview)" coming from pure nexus.. I like them both, but jdx has multi window. No problems for me out of either one.

Menu button I have, although you really don't need it as 90% of apps have done away with it in favor of the hamburger menus. I don't get the fuss over having the old silent mode. The way LP does it is fine by me, did take some getting used to though.

Some of the apps I use don't have menu button at all, haven't caught up with LP yet I guess. . On stock I used Button Savior. True Silent mode is easy one click & don't have to worry about inadvertently turning off my alarms. So many easy customizations, animations, etc with custom roms. It's just fun as well. If you enjoy your phone the way it is then more power to you.

I bit the bullet and installed Chroma. First rom I've used with RRO themes. Liking it.

Glad you like it. I've read that a lot of people like it, but I've never tried it. I was stuck on pure nexus now jdx(m-preview). give m a shot. It uses layers also. I'm currently using "Diablo" with m.

I like custom roms a lot, but yesterday wanted to go back to (mostly) stock for a bit. So I downloaded the stock android flashable zip file for Project Fi, rooted it and then flashed the Hells-Core kernel. If you can believe it, it made my N6 even faster and more fluid. Then I flashed the DT2W file. I'm keeping this config for a while.
