How many users have decided to go with NO Insurance on the V20?

At $11/month w/ a $200 deductible you pay what? around $132/year.

$11/MN = $120/YR + $200 deductible = $320/YR

Depending on the model phone, by the time you add tax and labor, you're pushing the $300 range for a local repair.

Yeah, but the kind of repair I'm personally likely to have is drop it in the river, lose it entirely, or run over it with my tractor... for me, it would probably be more than $300. just guessing, though.

I understand. In all the years I've had a smartphone, mine has always been in some type of case for the most part. It wasn't until just this year my Icon slipped out of my pocket when I got into my Armada. I didn't realize it until I was leaving. Pulled back to the parking spot and it looks as though I caught it with the front tire when I backed out. Single hairline crack across the top of the glass. Hasn't affected the use at all, so I put it BACK into the Otter, where lives without question. I owned a repair business fixing phones, so I probably take better care of my phones compared to the average consumer.

Looking at the recent history of the LG phones, I would get insurance. I had the bootloop on my LG G4, which LG took care of. But 3 months later on my new G4, the motherboard went out. Went through two G4s in less than 9 months. It is a new phone, get insurance for at least the first year.

The first year is already covered for defects

You also get up to 3 full claims per year (new from Verizon, used to be 2). So it really becomes beneficial if you break your phone one week, then lose it the next, and then you break it again.

There is no way to repair a lost phone! haha

By then you may be able to buy a new resale on swappa for 4 or 5 hundred.

Thanks for all the responses to my thread. I have given it a lot of thought and decided to go without insurance..... I have always carried insurance and never broke my phones within the last 10 years including 2 other smartphones.... For some people it is essential while others it is a waste of money... I hope that no one breaks their own V20 phone to cause them to use insurance at all...

I have never purchased device insurance and don't think I ever will. If my V20 is lost, damaged, etc., I take full responsibility.

In my case, I would probably reactivate my trusty Nexus 6 till upgrade time rolled around.

Clearly, a matter of personal choice.
