How much battery does your note 3 drain overnight?

5% without using the phone...

i love my note 3

You seem to have a lot of things in the top left of your notification bar... This tells me things are syncing and pulling data more than the average persons phone. That could easily be your drain.

@chloeshotmom Have you figured out why your Note 3 uses 20%. I'm just asking because I have mine for 4 days now and I notice a significant drain of about 20 % every morning. I called the service this morning and the woman told me it is normal because of the syncing, wifi, mobile data ... over night.

I just want to make sure my battery is not broken or something else. At the moment I have not figured out all the settings and how to turn off all the things I do not need.

The majority says the Note 3 needs 3%-8% over night. Does this mean 3%-8% in Airplane mode or does it mean 3%-8% with all data connections on? Do not get me wrong, I just want to figure out where the problem lies and therefore start with the obvious.

I had all connections on (wifi, mobile), drained 4-8% overnight
I recently began to turn off mobile data and wifi (cell signal still on, so not airplane mode), drained 0-4% overnight.

20% overnight is quite high, did you turn off the background sync, BBM, etc?

on average about 6-8%

but thats mainly because of the twitter, ESPN notifications I get during the night I imagine.

What background sync. This phone has so much different settings I'm pretty lost. I thought I had turned off everything but seems I didn't based on my drain :-(

if you pull down the menu from the top with two fingers, there is one button called "sync", I would turn that off.

Do turn off wifi and mobile data before sleep (you can put a power toggle widget on the homescreen, so its just two taps to turn them off).

Also BBM is known for massive battery drain over night, I would stop using it you have it.

haha how funny!! I turned off the most hidden sync toggles in the all the sub sub folders, but missed out the most obvious :mad: Thank you!!

you can also download wakelock detector and let it run overnight and see what's using your battery.

If possible, you can go to application manager and then go to "running tab", see what's running in the background. If I knew how to upload pictures on here using androids central app, I would be able to show you what you need to turn off.

If you turn off 'Sync' though and I use GMAIL and Gmail contacts, do these go away when the Sync is off?

1-2% like everyone else pretty much. But I try to keep it plugged in at night.

Normally I plug my phone in and charge it overnight. I think when I've left it on overnight, it drains around 10% over about 8 hours. There could be some syncing or something that's making things a bit more active for me than some folks here who are get <5% drain overnight, but I'm not all that concerned about it. As noted, I rarely leave my phone unplugged overnight, and the battery drain during the day has been fine (much smaller than past phones), so I'm generally happy with it.

Edit: I checked last night, and my phone went from about 90% to about 83%, a 7% drop, in around 8.5 hours. That's less than 1% per hour overnight, with my Tasker recipes turning off autosync, but leaving on WiFi, mobile data, and other services/features I normally use.

Looking at about 2% overnight with social media syncing automatically

BBM has a battery drain bug and they are aware of it. G+ also uses more battery so I keep it signed out unless I need it.

I charge overnight but like on Saturdays, I barely touch it. I took it off charge at 10am and it's 650pm and I've lost 6%. If I forget to sign out of G+, I would have lost 10% in the same time period.

With sync turned off, you won't get your Gmail unless you manually refresh. Your contacts will still be there, it just won't sync NEW contacts until you turn it back on.

Thanks. Guess I can start turning sync off then and only turn it on like once a week when it's on the charger.

Turning off WiFi and mobile data - might as well just shut off the device, since it's not able to do anything.

Next, BBM....is NOT known for "massive battery drain overnight". I have my Note running overnight on mobile data only, BBM and the Exchange e-mail client run - and nothing else syncing. I drop about 2-3% in 7 hours, so how would you explain that if BBM - according to you, "has massive battery drain overnight"? Do you have something you can post here to backup your statement?
