How "mid-range" are you thinking?

I have that option on my S20 FE. Of course the options are different because of the different ram/memory size.

My options are only 2, 4 and 6 GB.

Mine is set for 2.

I don't spend much time looking at budget spec lists, so I could be wrong. But it's entirely possible that the flash modules on those phones are so slow that using them as vRAM would do more harm than good.

Entirely stupid feature all around really.

How did you turn yours off? What version of the phone do you have? I have the Verizon S22u 256gb with 12gb of ram and would like to turn it off as well. But I don't have the option.

I just checked the bride's phone and she doesn't have the ability to turn it off, either. she's One UI 4. I'm in the beta program, so that must be a new feature.
