AOD can't possibly effect battery life, though it does affect battery life--big difference! How much you think AOD effects battery life?
If it's always on, it takes about 2% per hour. At least in my experience with it.
Anybody noticed much difference with it on or off?
Mine works when wireless charging is usedI'm not sure if this is the right place for this, but I'm a noob so please bear with me. I just got the new S10 and the AOD doesn't work when charging wirelessly. I just got off a chat session with Samsung and this was there reply: "I'd like to inform you that the always on display will not work when the phone is in the wireless charger" and "We are constantly enhancing our operating system capablities and with every improvement there is always a chance an older feature my be changed or modified".
Sigh. And I just tossed my old alarm clocks....
Are there any suggestions or replacements that anyone is aware of that don't cost a lot or have a lot of ads?

No reason why it won't work
When you put the phone in your pocket does the proximity detector turn off the AOD?I agree , not much at all
Do you have Nova? I do and it does that sometimes.I suspect it is another app running in the background. I have a black screen with a white bar at the bottom that shows the home 'button' and the back 'button'. I have set all the settings for AOD (I had an S8 in the past, so I'm familiar with the AOD settings). Anything I do to try and see what app is running in the background or why the AOD isn't displaying displays the lock screen.
