How often do you replace your phone?

Well I appear to be the longest so far, 4 years!

Granted, that was before I started working for a gaming company doing mobile games, so I may upgrade more often now, but I wanted to ride out paying off the phone if I could. I was down to $5 owning against the phone when I gave in and upgraded.
I envy you.

I found that there's just too many neat and interesting designs, ROMS, options, etc. to have just one device. Complete lack of discipline for me this year though. Hopefully, next year will be leaner.

I get the upgrade itch once every year. So far
2009- Samsung Corby
2010- LG Cookie
2011- Nokia 5230
2012- Micromax A75
2013- Nokia Lumia 520
2014- Motorola Moto E
2015-???

Once a year... Buy direct from maker not carrier as to avoid bloat.

Once a year ideally when the next updated mobile is out (generally the Notes' or Nexus')

I never got chance to use my Note 4 as felt I'd rather have the £££ in my account so on a Note 3 and still loving it! Looking forward to the Note 5 though, if they release one!

I have one Iphone 4, 3 Android and 1 Lumia 830 WP8.1. I may say each 6 months to follow real change. I'm looking for Xperia Z2 now.

Sometimes I really don't feel like I belong here. I have had my current phone for almost ten years (a few months short of that).

Sorry for the misimpression---I meant to say that ironically, not literally. I find this a wonderful resource for someone like myself who is very cautious about new purchases and likes to investigate thoroughly before making a decision. Of course, then it is easy to fall prey to "analysis paralysis" and not be able to make a decision. But as far as this forum is concerned, I love it and have found it to be a wonderful source of information. At the same time, I realize I am light years behind most of you who have had so much experience with smartphones and Android in particular.

I just think it's awesome that anyone has a cell phone that's lasted ten years. Even for a feature phone, that's impressive.

Yes, the phone has lasted, but it's been through at least 3 batteries (maybe 4--I lost track). It isn't as pretty as it was, but it has done the job. Nevertheless, even I would say I'm overdue for a replacement.

I'm not really on a schedule for replacing my phone. I just replace it when I feel I'm in need of a replacement. I kept my Motorola v195s for about six years, with a brief interlude for a Blackberry Pearl Flip which I immediately got rid of because it sucked. I had a Samsung Vibrant for a few months after that, then ditched it for a Nexus S which I kept for two years. I'm currently at about the 27-month mark with my Nexus 4, and not really sure when I'll replace it.

How do you deal with the battery degrading over time? Just wondering if you replace it or use your phones only moderately.... ?
