[HOW-TO] Bluetooth Tether from Android phone to XOOM (NO root or app required)

Re: [HOW-TO] Bluetooth Tether from Android phone to XOOM (NO root

I finally got it to work with my Droid Razr Maxx thethering the Xoom 3g (which is no longer under contract, hence the need to tether)! I had to reboot both devices, because I guess I goofed somewhere. But it worked, and I am able to pull internet from my phone. I needed this for a trip coming up, where I'd like to be able to have internet access for my son in the back seat (on the Xoom) while I'm driving.

Under the Bluetooth settings, Paired Devices, when I click the wrench icon, it doesn't say "tethering", but rather "Internet access". Also, I had to update my Bluetooth Mono app before it would connect to the phone at all. I just used the free app, but would be willing to pay for an inexpensive one if needed. It's much better than the $20 (!!!) extra per month Verizon tried to charge me for hotspot tethering! What crap!!

Thanks to the OP for the instructions! :-*

I used this all the time when I had my Droid X. Just tried it again tonight with my RAZR, Still works just as easy as before.. So great when you're getting close to using all your data for the month.
