How to bypass a remote "Erase" on an Android 5.1.1 smartphone?

I sold an Android Lollipop 5.1.1 phone on Ebay and forgot to reset it. While it was in transit I put an "Erase" on it through my Google account. Now the buyer is saying "Can't use it because it needs my login info".
Is there a way around this?

Not really. You should have removed your account then reset the phone. Buyer needs to return the phone to you for your reset.
