Hello, I just ordered the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE W200 and I'm going to use it with a phone (Nexus 6) and A&T doesnt provide NumberSync for it so I have to use call forwarding. Now, im kinda lost on what i need to do. Can someone post the steps I need to take to get this to work?

1) Do i set up call forwarding in my phone?
2) I know the watch has call forwarding setting is that all i need to set up?
3) Samsung S2 has an app that did everything for you is there an app?

Thanks,

1) Do i set up call forwarding in my phone?

Depends what you're trying to do. If you set your phone to forward to your watch number, then your phone will never ring, only your watch will. Texts will still go to both as long as you have a cell/wifi/bluetooth connection between them.

2) I know the watch has call forwarding setting is that all i need to set up?

This is actually the same thing as setting your phone to forward to the watch, it's just a remote control feature in case you forget to set the forwarding before your leave without your phone or whatever.

3) Samsung S2 has an app that did everything for you is there an app?

There are phone apps and widgets to quickly turn forwarding on and off. On the watch itself I think there may be some as well, but it would essentially just be a shortcut to the same options in the settings menu.

Personally I leave forwarding on probably 90% of the time now, as I've been trying to use the watch as a standalone as much as possible.

So basicly dont touch my forwarding in my phone because i want my phone to ring. But i want my phone and my watch to ring together if on and if i walk oit of Bluetooth range my watch will ring. I had the gear S2 and it did all this for you through the app, it sucks lg cant put together an app for a $400 watch well i paid $337 no contract...

When I turn call forwarding on in my watch settings my phone's dials a number but then all I get is a busy signal. What am I doing wrong? Im using a nexus 6 on sprint and my watch is using truphone.

I haven't got mine yet its coming this week.... Im going to try what this forum poster did HERE that's an awesome idea. I just wish LG thought about users not relying on the NumberSync and more on call forwarding because not everyone has compatible phones and creating an app of their own.

The forwarding codes may not work with every carrier exactly the same. I'm not certain, but possibly the watch is sending Truphone codes and the Sprint network can't understand them. Are you able to set the phone to forward from it's settings directly?

That is a pretty nifty setup!

Well, to be fair most of their sales are through AT&T which offers NS, so I think the thought process was that the users would all be using the AT&T network to take advantage of it.
Curiously, it would be interesting to see the numbers for off-contract sales used on other networks vs those who actually use AT&T.

I just got rid of my Gear S2 because of battery life and Samsung's app supported the NumberSync and for the users who phones went compatible they had a button that you pressed and it did all the call forwarding stuff for you, heck LG doesn't even have an app. Thanks!

Truphone doesn't support call forwarding on prepaid.
From the website:
Call forwarding is only available to our business customers currently.

I'm using Truphone in my watch and I can turn on call forwarding through the watch settings or through the phone (Cricket) settings. The 'call forwarding' feature on the watch is a remote function that changes the phone's settings. You are not actually forwarding Truphone calls. I'm using an ASUS ZenFone 2. Could it be differences in the phone settings causing the problem? Or maybe Sprint has different forwarding settings?

This is entirely a guess and someone correct me if I'm wrong, but possibly the watch is trying to get the forwarding code from the Truphone network to send to the phone to use, but since the network is saying it's not allowed it isn't able to tell the phone to do it?

I'm using Truphone in my watch and can forward calls without issue so I don't think that's the problem. That's why I guessed it could be the differences in phones or networks (Sprint vs. AT&T/cricket etc.) but I could be wrong.

CDMA networks (Sprint and Verizon) and GSM networks operate very differently when dealing with call forwarding. In the past, a lot ppl have reported problems with forwarding on either Sprint or Verizon (also depends on region) using Samsung Gear S. GSM networks are much more uniform and reliable on this aspect.

The call forwarding feature on U2LTE is quite straight forward and easy to use. What's so complicated? Settings->Cellular->Call forwarding, turn it on or off as you need. It sends command to your phone and the phone will do the forwarding command for you. It works much more reliably than the Samsung Gear S I had before.
