How to clear/disable timeline in my files app?

The timeline at the top of the My Files is absurd. I thought it was recently visited places and deleted everything on the drive. Yes you can remove everything with it.
How can I disable the function?

I would like an answer as well, As the whole thing is just a pain in the ****.
I understand its there for some people as it can come handy, but at least make it optional for people who hate it.
