My big problem was getting the wifi to work again after leaving Cuba. For this there is no need for backups and resets. As noted elsewhere, it appears that being in Cuba blocks the Broadcom wifi chip. The geolocation is set by the mobile network. If, like me, you get home and your wifi is still not working it could be your mobile company network (Vodafone UK for me) is not telling your phone you are back in a country that Broadcom like better.
I solved mine by manually trying to connect to another mobile network provider in the UK, though this only gave me emergency call coverage. This was enough to make the phone recognise I was back in Blighty and my wifi to restart.
