How to delay finger print screen?

New T-Mobile Galaxy S6. Is there a way to set the screen-time for the fingerprint log-in feature to display longer. Sometimes my login screen stays up long enough to press my thumb print, but many times it appears and disappears before I can log in. Is there a setting to increase the time it stays visual?

Thanks,

Kerry

Unfortunately there is still no separate setting for a lock screen timeout on the S6, as far as I know.

In regular operation the default is 10 seconds, in power saving mode the lock screen fades to black in 3 seconds. The only workaround I'm aware of is to either hold down the home button while unlocking (which in my experience sometimes causes a print reading error), or touch the screen with another finger while unlocking to keep it active.

I hope this gets addressed in a future update, as it's been one of my primary complaints about the S6 since it launched.

Hi Saros,

I checked and my Power Savings is not turned on. I'll try the finger trick. I find that many screens disappear too fast.

Thanks, Kerry

You can adjust the amount of time your home screen stays on, just not the lock screen.

Navigate to Settings > Display > Screen timeout and you can alter the interval accordingly.

Secure Lock is your answer. You can set when the device locks based on the following criteria; time, location, connected device, voice, and physical movement. I use 'On-body detection' myself. It will only lock the device after being placed in a pocket or if it remains somewhat stationary for a time.

Lock Screen and Security > Secure Lock
