How to disable bixby and bixby button SOLUTION

I studied the tutorials on what Bixby is and how to use it. I'm still learning as well as Bixby is still learning my daily actions. We're both getting along well. Because I know what it is and that is not designed to be like Google Assistant and Siri that help me to understand its uses as well. Bixby is my buddy lol. Maybe if those who don't like it at first glance would take some time daily and study the tutorials you may find it's useful and by all means don't compare it to the other assistance because they aren't designed to be use in the same way. Don't let the word assistant confuse you. Go on now, go on. Give Bixby a chance.

Many of us have "given Bixby a chance" and decided it's not polished enough yet or just isn't for them.

The issue many have is being stuck with a dedicated button that launches Bixby.

I have given Bixby a chance. It's not something I want to use. I find it distracting to my coworkers and to my family to sit and talk to my phone when I could do the activity in silence (and most of the time quicker). One of my coworkers uses voice command with their phone constantly. It's annoying. Also, Bixby is quite able to work hands free and doesn't need to have the button in order to work if one does feel like talking to their phone.

That being said, whether it's useful or not, I want control of that button on the phone. I was using it perfectly on my Note 8. Right now I've remapped it to these useful functions, but it's still popping up in the background after doing the ADB settings.

When I disable Bixby my bxActions stops working. I get a message that Bixby can't be disabled. How are you getting it to work with Bixby Voice disabled?

They're not. It very clearly states on the bxActions app that it DOES NOT work with Bixby 2. I downloaded it anyway & it occasionally works, but mostly is a waste of time... Just wait for the Bixby update on the Note 9 that will at allow us to set the Bixby key to only open Bixby when double pressed.

But we knew the Bixby button was there when we bought it. For me, it was and still is a bit funny when Bixby get it wrong lol. It can do a lot and I find there are times Bixby comes in handy.

Yea I know it can be annoying to hear someone using their phone as tho they're the only one in the room.

I'm not trying to be a smarty but Samsung never stated that the button would be (remappable). But people buy the phone anyway then complain about the button. Samsung placed the button there for Bixby. Like they placed the S Pen where it's placed. I think people should stop complaining about the button and just use the phone. Don't get upset because you hit the button. That's your fault and not Samsung's. I know that's not the only button people hit by "accident" I had to learn where to place my hand and finger.

But with the new Bixby update people can choose to press once or twice to open Bixby voice. Then make sure they don't "accidentally" press it twice.

While this doesn't disable the single push of the bixby button, it does not stop bixby from opening with a long push of the button. If you long hold it and bixby voice opens, it seems to allow the single push to activate again. At least that has been my experience while playing with this setting.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to disable bixby. We were able to on the note 8, so why wouldn't we expect to be able to on the note 9.

I personally refuse to use bixby just for the fact they try to force it on us and I find it annoying.

How do you switch it to press twice?

Okay maybe you need a different phone.

Regarding the dedicated Bixby Button.

Yes I agree I knew it was present on my phones.

For me its not a deal breaker.

It's not the end of the world or has ruined my day if I accidentally press the Bixby Button. ;)

If Samsung provide a solution to turn off the button option in the settings like they've done in the past then great.

If not then..... Oh well.

held down screen
selected bixby screen
toggled off bixby

held in bixby button
clicked settings
turned off bixby wake-up

using words to take camera pics.
turn on camera
select settings
scroll down
select (use words) to take pictures
toggle that!

Bixby is off!

I have yet to hit the Bixby button by mistake. I guess your phones are a lot more sensitive than mine lol.

...oh...but on the other hand....Bixby wakes up all on its own when I am having a conversation with someone and I am not saying Bixby...lol..

Did this, still launched when I pressed button once by mistake. I want to know how to switch it so it doesn't go on unless I push the button twice
