[HOW-TO] Download/Install Honeycomb to Nook Color (SD card)

Hi, I'm new to all of this, and wasn't really sure what you meant by saying. . .

1. Download this version of the Market (2.2.11).

2. Download GoogleServicesFramework.apk.

3. Place the files in your adb tools folder (or platform-tools on the newer version - wherever adb.exe is)

4. Open a command prompt in that folder, and issue the following commands. . .

Basically items 3&4. I'm using a PC, so didn't know if I could just enter all of these by firing up a cmd prompt via Start > Run > cmd, or . . . ? Thanks for any help.

Hey i'm new to honeycomb, do you need to completely root the nook for it to work, for i have cm7 on my sd card and running on my nook, but i'm just alternately using android without really having they nook rooted.

I would like to know this as well. I got honeycomb on the nook, but got lost at step 3 - place the files in the folder..... I keep trying to find the answer. It is sounding like I need sdk (software developer kit) and also???? java dk?
If so, which one?
I wish the steps could be elaborated on some more for us newbies. Could someone let us know specifically which installations of d k's are needed to get the job done.
Much appreciation for your assistance. I've learned a lot already.

I updated my CM7 nook, which has been running for months, to v 1.4

Now upon boot, it just spins on the Cyanogen blue screen spinnning...

What is the fix for this?

thanks

Those statements really don't fit together coherently, and certainly don't belong in a Honeycomb thread, but I'll take a shot at interpretation. Are you saying that you have CM7 on a SD card, and updated your stock install to v. 1.4.1? If you made the card a while ago using verygreen's SASD method, you may need to update both verygreen's installer and CM7: Flavors of Daylight: Updating a CM7 SD install for the Nook Color

I feel completely incompetent, but I can't get this to work. I made the burned the disk image okay, but when i plugged it into the NC and powered it on, the screen flashed a few times and simply sits with "ANDROID_" sitting in the bottom left corner (sideways oriented). Any ideas why this happened and how I can fix it? I'm using the Mac dd approach with a 4GB sd card, and yes, I have tried reformatting and re-burning the disk image (which is NookHoney04.img)

Sorry to break it to you but Honeycomb doesn't work... Use CM7 instead while you wait for CM9.

i download android 3.0 to my nook color today, and half the time it will go to the lock screen, but the screen won't react when i touch it. the screen doesn't respond to anything. why is that?

every time i try to write the file to my SD card (which i formatted), it keeps saying that another process is being performed on it :/

I did all that and my nok booted from internal memory, not SD. sd shows2 disks one boot ans anothersd card, both with files on them. what didi I do wrong? any help would be appreciated

first try was on mac and then another 2 on win 7,both times image was created but nook booted to 1.4.1 not from card, I need help please

i did exactly like that, still no boot
1. Download the image:

nookhoney04.img.zip

Torrent: nookhoney04.img.zip (might be faster than either of the above options - of course you'll need a torrent client like bittorrent)

Unzip the image onto your computer using WinRAR on PC, or or Stuffit Expander (on Mac).

2. Get an SD card, at least 4GB.

Some had problems with 4GB cards, others said the image stalled burning, but then it worked anyway. Worth a try, but larger than 4GB, you should be fine.

3A. PC Users:

- The usual program for this, Win32DiskImager, isn't working with this large file. So download WinImage, and under 'Disk' choose "Restore Virtual Image to Physical Drive." Change the files shown at the bottom to "all files" and select the file.
