So, I've read the "how-tos", tried googling it & tried to figure it out myself but, for the life of me, I can't figure out how to turn on/enable the multi-window function. Has it been removed, as an option, on Verizon?

If it isn't a regular option on Verizon....can someone tell me how to make it available? I've enabled "Developer" options but have no idea where to go from here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Wow if Verizon disabled this feature that would be really dumb. It should be standard as part of the OS with no option to turn it on or off. You just tap on the icon that looks like two little screens.

I think the OP is talking about free form windows.... Which is different. That's not enabled (at least on Verizon) as I looked it up.

ETA: the OP probably did mean multi window now that I read it again. But free form windows in Android 7 not enabled but apparently it can be played with if you download an app.

When I read the "how-to" (enable it), it says it will appear in settings:

"How to enable Multi Window mode on LG V20
Turn on the LG V20
Go to the Settings menu
Select on Multi window under Device
In the the top right corner of the screen, switch the toggle Multi window to ON
Select if you want the content in Multi Window mode by default by checking the box next to Open in multi window view"

My settings options don't include it:

Yeah, I don't have the setting either on my AT&T version but it's enabled by default. At least it should be. So you don't have the two little rectangle window icon when you go into your recent apps view?

I don't think I have that. Where would I find it? (Sorry, brand new to LG).

tap on the square home key icon at the bottom of your screen. This will bring you to your recent apps view (See my screenshot above) and tap on the double window icon on the app you want to open in multi window then select the next app.

Thank you!! Yes, I found it. :D

running two apps in multi-window view is now a built in feature of the OS with Android 7.0 Nougat. However the app has to support it. For example Twitter currently dose not, but the latest alpha version of their app dose, so it should be getting updated soon and have multi-window support added.

There is a option in "Developers Options" to force all apps to allow you resize them for multi-window but obviously this might not always work so well if you force a app into multi-window that is not meant for it, but it can't hurt anything to try.

Also another way to activate multi-window if you are already in one app that you want to run in multi-window with another app just press and hold the multi tasking button.

And this is a bit off topic, but for those that don't know if you quickly double tap the multi tasking button it will switch you back and forth between your two most recently used apps. I find my self using this feature a lot.

It's at the bottom of the security settings screen. I have it on my Verizon version.
No, wrong feature. LG added a feature to let you pin specific apps on the overview screen so that they don't get cleared when you clear all. I feel like it was there before I took the day one update. It's a nice feature to have.

The one thing I don't like about the multi window function on the V20 is that you can only do multi window with already opened apps.

It was much better on my note7 where, once you hold down the button, it will move the current window up and show a selection of your apps at the bottom, so you were also able to open apps which are not opened yet.

Why is this important? Well easy... let's say you you read something on fb and want to chat about it on whatsapp, on my old samsung I could just move fb up and open whatsapp at the bottom screen. However, now I can't. I have to go out, open whatsapp manually and only then can do multiwindow with FB. But then facebook is on the bottom screen.....

Well well.. nothing major, but it's not very intuitive I think.

Any comments?

It used to be like that on previous LG devices, but I didn't like it because, for whatever reason, it didn't list them in alphabetical order.

Are you talking about this?

Did Verizon seriously get rid of that?! I wonder why they like to screw with the features and UI of the phones so much, it seems so pointless.
