How to enable Multi Window - Verizon

The one thing I don't like about the multi window function on the V20 is that you can only do multi window with already opened apps.

It was much better on my note7 where, once you hold down the button, it will move the current window up and show a selection of your apps at the bottom, so you were also able to open apps which are not opened yet.

Why is this important? Well easy... let's say you you read something on fb and want to chat about it on whatsapp, on my old samsung I could just move fb up and open whatsapp at the bottom screen. However, now I can't. I have to go out, open whatsapp manually and only then can do multiwindow with FB. But then facebook is on the bottom screen.....

Well well.. nothing major, but it's not very intuitive I think.

Any comments?

Press and hold the multi tasking button while in one app, lets say Facebook like your example. Then if the app you want to be on the bottom like whatsapp has not been launched already just hit the home button and go launch it. When you do Facebook will be on top with whatsapp on the bottom in multi-window view.

oh wow, I didn't know this works. I was assuming as soon as I press the home button it will cancel the multiwindow function, but once you choose the app, it actually goes back to it. this is even better than samsung's way, genius.

Thanks sean.

No problem. I had to google it my self a few days ago after getting my V20. It could def be more intuitive or maybe put up a message the first time you activate dual window letting you know about that little shortcut. Can't fault LG for it though, the implementation is exactly the same as stock Nougat.

Are you talking about this?

Did Verizon seriously get rid of that?! I wonder why they like to screw with the features and UI of the phones so much, it seems so pointless.

Exactly what I'm talking about. I could have sworn it was there when I bought the phone, but definitely gone after the initial update.

The stuff these carriers pull with these phones is ridiculous.
