Android Central Question

Long story . . . but Verizon just "fixed" various problems by "updating" my Galaxy S5. That "fix" seems to have restored factory settings on many/most, but not every thing on my phone. My added apps seem to be there, but data they held is gone for all that I have checked so far.

Among the things I had to do was create a new pin/password. My original (lost) password was 8 numeric digits (that I entered via a 3x3 "keypad" about the size used when entering a phone number to call). I was required to include alphabetic characters in my new 7 character password. I think could have used 4 numbers for a pin, but I prefer to use more characters.

My problem is that I now have to enter the password via a small alpha-numeric keypad, like used for text, emails, etc. I find that very cumbersome & slow. My fingers/thumbs mis-type often.

Is there a way to enlarge the keypad? and switch between alpha & numeric characters? Or will I have to shorten to a 4 digit pin?

Using a password will use the full keyboard, using a PIN code will use the alphanumeric keypad. You can use longer than 4 digits on a PIN code. 4 is the minimum.
