How to get rid the square border/frame on the notification icon on my lock screen

Guys, after updating my s8+ to oreo, i got a square border/frame around the notification icon on my lock screen if i get 2 notifications from different apps. From the previous version, it was just a circle icon no matter how many notifs i got. I hate it, this is really bothering me. Is anyone having the same thing happened? Do you know how to get rid the square border/frame on the notification icon on the lock screen?

that's odd mine didn't do that on the s8+, I have the s9+ now which I assume is on Oreo but mine still has single icons.

It didn't start doing this until the Oreo update.

There doesn't seem to be a way that you can get rid of it or turn it off in the settings that I've found so far. Sorru
