How to get to speaker phone when calling Voice Mail?

I was retrieving voice mail today using Google Pixel 3 on google fi. I used the "1" to dial voice mail. But I could not get to any option to switch to the speaker from the ear piece. The volume was too low and using the volume rocker was ineffective. The dial pad did not have any options. When I'm making or receiving a call I had the ability to engage the speaker. I probably am missing something obvious.

That's odd -- I see the Speakerphone option just like a normal call (but I have T-Mobile, not Fi). What options do you see after the phone connects to your voicemail?

Aha. I was staring at just the dial pad (numbers, etc). I needed to tap the "back" icon to get features like speaker. Yup, just verified it again.
