So I have to download DI01 to unroot? I want stock and then worry about DL09 later.

i didnt see you say you wanted to unroot
and also that link leads you to both DL09 and DI01 stock both can be flashed via odin,,,,if you flash DI01 it will bring you to stock out of the box, no root no nothing it will be like you just turneded it on for the first time

im trying to flash back to DI01 so I can get the OTA...
Ive downloaded the DI01package3.tar and connected to Odin.

When I start the process... I keep getting these messages.

<ID:0/003> Added!!
<ID:0/003> Odin v.3 engine (ID:3)..
<ID:0/003> File analysis..
<ID:0/003> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/003> Initialzation..
<ID:0/003> Get PIT for mapping..
<ID:0/003> Firmware update start..
<ID:0/003> Sbl.bin
<ID:0/003> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
<ID:0/003> Removed!!


Ive dl'd the latest Samsung drivers.
Closed and restart Odin

Same thing over and over again.
Anyone?

I have followed all instructions to the letter...
No matter what I try, Odin keeps failing.

Ok.so with the battery out . Switch USB ports. Put it into download mode and try again

nope.. Same thing...

Should the battery be out the whole time? Everytime I try, i do this
Pull USB cable
Pull battery
Plug in USB
put in battery
See the battery charging screen
hold Power/Down Volume
Get to DOWNLOADING Screen
(at this point, Odin doesnt recognize the phone)
Pull USB
Put USB back
(Now Odin sees the phone)
Select PDA tar
START

This is killing me..

I tried a 3rd USB port and this one is working.

Im going to let this run... Will drop a quick note once it completes.

YES !!! Back to DI01...

Went to settings to check for OTA... And its there!

Now I know, USB ports make a difference!

Hmmmm... I couldnt get the phone to get to DOWNLOAD screen if the battery wasnt in....

So, I left it in and all worked !

Its back to DI01 and Im doing the OTA upgrade to DJ09 now

I'll worry about re-rooting tomorrow. Gotta get some sleep!

I have a brand new HP laptop running an I7 Quad Core Processor... I would hope the USB ports are new!

odd should have worked ,,,, take out the battery,,,, and with it plugged in just hold down the vol down button for 15-20...

well doesnt matter now its done anyway

also... My mistake... I meant DL09... I had been on DJ05 prior to my headache tonight.

Now, I just completed the OTA upgrade to DL09

Saw your post about Rooting... Will do that tomorrow

Decided to stay up...

Just rooted the phone with your super duper 1 click batch file. Yeah !

tomorrow, i'll restore everything from titanium and I should be back in business..
