You mentioned trying Safe Mode, and that you couldn't receive calls in Safe Mode -- that's unusual. The very basic function of making and receiving phone calls should work fine in Safe Mode. Are you using any special calling service?
As far as the Safe Mode thing, yes.
As far as the Proximity Sensor issue, no. I will remove the screen protector this weekend when I am home and have another one to put on it. I am going to pinpoint the sensor, and notch the new screen protector for it.
Ok, it looks like the screen protector was the issue. Pulled it off and replaced it with a new one. Damn I hate putting those things on. But anyway, despite having a lot of small bubbles, everywhere but near the sensor, everything seems to be working fine. The real test will be during the week when I get tons of calls for work.
After several days of use, I think I finally got it. It was a piece of lint below the screen protector. The new screen protector has a lot more lint, (I hate putting these things on because of that), but none are in the area of the sensor.
What is everybody fool proof, lint free method of installing a screen protector AND putting it on straight? LOL
