How to know that CPU isn't damaged?

My device is samsung core i8262, it has been hanging very frequently. got it to the service centre, those guys did some s/w updates. but the problem still persits. one of my buddy said it maybe due to cpu damage? any methods to check it?

If the CPU is damaged, the phone acts like a hand warmer - it gets warm, and that's all. You won't see anything on the screen, and nothing will happen or work.

So that's not the problem. (Damaged CPUs just stop working.)
