Need help with overclock kernel

Alright, I have my phone how I like it....mostly
I'm looking to overclock it when I need to, and unclock it when I can as well. I'd like to be able to save battery life but have nice speeds too.

I've heard about the low voltage kernels, and I'm wondering what has been achieved with the fascinate?

Where do I find the kernel I want?
and the easiest way to go about flashing it? (I want to keep my rom and everything)

I'm working with:
Firmware 2.2.1

Baseband S:i500.04 V.EB01

Kernel 2.6.32.9

Build EB01

and a big thanks to everyone helping me get this far!

i tried it with superclean 2.9.2 and it didnt work and then i did it with raw/bloated 2.2 from droid's thread

and i tried it on stock di01

Have you tried to fix permissions? There may be an app that is also not compatible with the theme that you may have on the phone.

Download (Adrynalyne)EC01 Rom & (NemesisAll) Kernel-->OTB (TouchWiz CWM3 Voodoo OC adjustable) - Warning: Must read post for install and use! Go to Market and download Voltage Control. I set mine at 1120mhz and very stable battery last me 22hours.

Almost all (excluding the AOSP) kernels in the listed thread will work on the ROM build (EB01) you are running. Unless you have an AOSP construct and that will require that specific kernel..

Almost all are from the EC10 kernel source code release.. they will run on EB01 ROMS...

Got It Fixed!

After several frustrating hours of tweaking and tinkering with the controller file for boot animations I can now say I have figured about half of it out..

Thanks a bunch to davey11 for investing your time and patience in all the testing you did!

I have fixed a good portion of the original boots that I created (slowed the frame rates on some and sped up others.. and fixed the 'no loop' issues)..

I have also ported several very cool boots from the Epic threads.. There are some shutdowns on the way.

Please enjoy.

The 4 helix ones don't have a logo...just lloyd with a spinning thing underneath.

Definitely funny.. If you have a link to the boot file I will port it over and we can have it on our phones..

FYI: New EC01 ROM from nitroglycerine33 - Looks like it is in the spirit of SuperClean..

Gonna have load it up and see how it handles..

Done - > link - flash in CWM.. Sound will not work - no current kernel support.

My advice would be to stick with the undervolted kernels and stay away from the overclocked kernels. Myself, DroidXcon, JaeKar99, Sheepdog Elite, and I think also Kevin Gossett have given out advice numerous times to stay away from overclocking the Fascinate. Hell, even Gunnermike53 who does some of the craziest things to his phone just for the curiosity factor to see what will happen advises everyone to stay away from overclocking our phone. The people over at XDA who are overclocking their phones are for the most part highly advanced users.
