how to make a "less than" sign

I've had my G2 for a couple months now and I still can't figure out how to make a darn "less than" sign. Can someone give me a clue.

Can do it on virtual keyboards such as smart keyboard pro (highly recommend), better keyboard, gingerbread keyboard and using swype. I know you are probably talking about the hardware keyboard but this is the only option I know.

From the TMO forums: Hold down ALT, then press Parentheses key on the hardware keyboard.

No chance to confirm this on my G2 yet, but hope that helps.

That was probably me on the tmobile forums. But you press alt anf then HOLD the "(" key until an on screen prompt appears with <, [, etc.

^ When I do that, the only thing to pop up is *.

When you hold down alt and press the J key wait a second or 2 and a window will pop up with your other options.
