how to make k-9 silent???

i am using k-9 to get my email and LOVE it except for the notifications! i have gone into settings - acct settings - notifications - and unchecked new mail notifications...since there is no 'apply' button, i just exit out and when i go back to verify that i will get no more notifications, the check has RETURNED to the new mail notifications! what do i need to do? i only want a vibrate when i get new mail but cant fix this problem...any suggesgtions?

How are you exiting the program? Most settings screens that do not have an "apply" button, hitting the back button will save the settings. If this does not work, than your best bet is to send the developer of this particular app a support request.
