[How To] One-Click Root Your Droid X [Official 2.2 OTA]

How long does it take? When I run the batch file, it shows * daemon started successfully*, but doesn't seem to progress any further.

It appears my device drivers were corrupted. I reinstalled the Moto drivers and the process worked beautifully.

In the instructions when it says just drag and drop the sdk to c drive, you do actually have to run SDKmanager.exe, correct?

doroot.bat is a batch file that should be in the zip file that avlfire linked

i did nothing. it automatically resets it (just takes a while sometimes)

Hey terp...off subject, but i've seen u in the post your x sceens thread.....what site do you use to host the pics to be posted in the thread?

Like I said, I didn't use this method and I'm not going to try to unroot and then try this method without an .sbf to flash back to.

ok i must be doing something wrong....takes me more than 1 click that's for sure....i run doroot1.bat, then it asks me to press any key to continue a couple times....then it says click doroot2.bat, i do it, it kicks me back to the command prompt with a $ displayed....

what's going on?

I'm using the mac/linux method.

3. Navigate to the tools folder of your android-sdk
[cd /android-sdk-linux_x86/tools]
4. enter [chmod 0755 doroot.sh] then run it [./doroot.sh]

This part, where do you enter chmod.....etc . On your computer or on your phone? If so, where do you enter it and how.

Ok, Im assuming that you open up adb in tools, if this is correct, it is not letting her enter anything, it just says process completed. Help?

none of my internet music( slacker pandora i heart radio) work. is that because i rooted wrong? is that a known issue? im using droidx with 2.2 offical.

Worked for me after a little trial and error. The process hung a couple times and I had to battery pull phone and restart computer to get it to run all the way through. I also had to battery pull/restart the phone to get the super user permissions to show up.

This is unbelievable...I have done this at least 30 times today, and I even did a complete data wipe on my phone. This is what I end up with EVERYTIME. Can't anyone give me a little guidance?

Thanks.

I've had her put all of the files onto her SDcard, then Open up Terminal in Mac, she puts in the command
[cd /android-sdk-linux_x86/tools]

and says "Command not Found:

kcannon...the android-sdk-linux_x86 folder (which holds the "tools" folder) is not to be put on the SDcard. Those files go on your computer.
