How to pull .apk files from rooted phone

I'm about to root my phone but before I do I was wondering; how do I pull off .apk files from my phone (if I can) once rooted?

Do you just what to remove these apps? If so the easiest way is using titanium back up or root explorer and if you root you will want both those apps.
